Net book Reflection

Having a Net book has been such a help to me because when I need to search for information it lets me go to the website where the information is left on. It is a help because when I type it types better and faster and if I work with paper and pen it is so much slower. I find it easier to use my Net book than paper and pen.






As much as I have loved having a Net book there are some things that I haven’t liked, like the Internet dropping off every time and when it drops off it makes my work goes slower.



The biggest difference in my learning is that I am getting better at math and reading.




The greatest challenge for me is to not get distracted and play games.



I think It will be a good and a bad Idea because what is the point if you have no Internet and if you do your work on paper it will be finished before the time has ran out. 

The problem with using a Net book is that I sometimes be tempted and do the wrong thing but then I know what I have done and should the right things at the right time

It is so cool.....................

King Kong And The Slug

          KING KONG
Stupid king Kong knowingly embarrassed himself. Knowingly stupid king kong embarrassed himself. Embarrassing his mother knowingly, stupid king kong felt guilty. As stupid King Kong
farted in the audience he knowingly embarrassed himself.

The creepy slug attempted to jump unfortunately he had no legs. Attempting to win the race the creepy slug was unfortunately too slow. Unfortunately the creepy slug attempted yet failed. Creepy slugs attempt everything unfortunately they die at the end.

Alien Snot

“Yuck, making alien snot is disgusting. Filled with disgust and horror, I waited to make the yucky snot in Room 13. I wonder what the snot will feel like.

If you are interested to make alien snot, here is a recipe to make it. The first step is simple, all you need to do is to pour corn flour into bowl so that you can pour water in it and give it a good stir. Last, some green food colouring and stir once more then you will notice it will harden quickly

Miss King came around with some corn flour tipping it in a bowl.  As I stirred the corn flour and water mixed together, it harden quickly. Yuck!!!!!!!!!!!!! The food colouring was next, gross.

Making alien snot was not so bad after all. Although I thought it would of been disgusting, it came out good at the end.

Ice Cream Comets

If you know lots about space than I think you should know what a comet is. Well Room 13 made some comets. Not real comets,but ice cream comets.

As Miss King dumped the icy cold ice cream on my hands I shouted, Ahhh it is freezing cold. I could not take it any more, the ice cream was to cold. As it dripped through my fingers it left a sticky mess. How can this day get any worser.

If you want to know what comets are made from, here is the answer for it,it is made out of rocks which are different sizes. Oh yeah and the next is dust and ice. There you go, now you know what it is made of.

If your interested in comets here is how you can make it. The first step is obvious alright, scoop ice cream into a cone or in your hands. A simple step is next, pour sprinkles onto it so that can be the dust and lastly biscuit crumbs for the rocks, that is how to make it.

Filled with wild excitement I slurped the comet into my mouth. Mmmm delicious I said to myself. I felt different textures on my tongue.

I felt really great after I ate the ice cream, it was yummy. My tummy wanted some more but I did not want to be greedy. Delicious!!!!!!!!!!

This was one great afternoon alright. I might make some another day if I have the chance to.

Lift Off

Nervously sitting strapped in my seat, launch was mere seconds away. Shaking with fear, I knew this was going to be dangerous adventure for me to go to space. I was ready to leave earth.

I was really scared about lifting off. Countdown started as I prepared to launch off.I felt frightened.

Booom!!!!  A explosion was seen as the space shuttle launched off. Few seconds had past as the rocket ship accelerated into the sky with a bright blaze of fire.

I could not wait to explore new planets. Missing earth so much I wanted to go back there.

SBW

SBW entered the stadium with confidence. Anxiously waiting for the ball Sonny Bill stepped the opposition. Accurately off-loading the ball SBW ran towards the try line as the crowd was cheering for him. SBW dived for the winning try.

Black Out Day

I got dressed for school on friday. Today was Black Out Day. This was to show our support for the All Blacks on the opening day of the Rugby World Cup.

Running down the footpath as I saw my friend ,coins jingled in my pocket as I bounced excitedly - I was going to buy a sausage for my lunch.Most people wore Black.

Arriving at school, I noticed, to my surprise, that even the teachers were wearing black. Miss Tito aswell as Miss Va’afusuaga even wore wigs and had paint on their face. I love it when our whole school gets behind an idea.

At assembly Mr Burt kept telling stories about the times when he was not wearing his hat and yucky stuff fell on his hair. I love Mr Burt’s stories.Then It was finished.

` In our classroom we traced around a small person.As all of us finished it was time to paint.Using different colors to put on our work we left our things to dry.

After morning tea team three and four went out to the courts to play some rugby games.We all were looking forward to the activities that the sevens boys set up for us.I could not do any more exercise after kicking balls and playing touch.jmiukjm mjmnj m

I had such a great black out day and I really hope that the All Blacks can win tonight. My brother is supporting Tonga.NZ is going to win their match.

Alfajorcitos

Mmm huele los Alfajorcitos tan riquisimo. Wow! The Alfajorcitos are so delicious.
Rm 13 made a Argentinian treat on Thursday.

In Argentina so many kids eat lots of Alfajorcitos. The Alfajorcitos is a treat in Argentina. these snacks are very nice.

On Thursday Miss King brought some biscuits and a jar filled with dulce de leche to school. It was so sticky and crunchy. We squashed the biscuits together to make a sandwich. Mmmmm the Alfajorcitos are nice they are like my favourite Argentinian treats. The smell of the dulce de leche was great.

Aussie Rules

`“Yes, we are playing Aussie rules today” Do you have AFL training every Thursday? Well room13 does. We have coaches that are really good at playing Aussie rules.

Blustery winds blew into our faces. I was frustrated with the weather was changeable. As we tried to play, the wind got stronger and stronger like a cyclone, we could barely begin.

When the wind was calm, we learnt some skills like a drop punt and bouncing the ball. These skills were to help us learn how to play Aussie rules. Our coaches were making sure that we were doing it properly. The sun came out just as it was time for a warm up called the jumper bumper.

Running and jogging we played kick baseball. The game got boring just as we had to switch over teams. When I caught the AFL ball I started to cheer up.The game got really fun and exciting from then on.

The day was a cool day. When the training was finished, we had learnt so much throughout the afternoon.

Warriors Win Against The Cowboys

Wow what are come back from the Vodafone Warriors.Warriors beat the cowboys 18 - 6.This was a miracle.Will the Warriors win the premiership.I think they won all because of teamwork and cooperation.They in-encouraged and helped the members carry on.As the Vodafone Warriors tackled the oppositions they soon had their turn to get the ball .

Breakfast:Scrambled Eggs with Tuna

Ingredients

• 3 eggs

  
  

• 4 tablespoons trim milk

• 1 spring onion, finely chopped

• 95g can tuna in spring water, drained

• 2 tablespoons diced Peppadews (optional)

• freshly ground black pepper

• 2 small wholemeal pita bread

• 1 cup chopped fresh spinach

  
  

Step 1 Whisk eggs and milk with a fork in a microwave-proof bowl. Cook on high for 1 minute. Remove and whisk again.

Step 2 Microwave for a further 30 seconds on high for eggs to begin scrambling slig

htly. Remove and add spring onion. Cook for 30 more seconds.

Step 3 Stir with a fork. Add tuna and diced Peppadews (if using). Season with pepper. Spoon onto bread and serve with spinach.

Lunch:Beef and chilli bean pies

Ingredients

• olive oil spray

• 500g beef chuck steak, trimmed, diced

• 1 onion, finely chopped

• 1 green capsicum, deseeded, diced

• 2 cloves garlic, crushed

• 1 teaspoon ground chilli

  
  

• 400g can no-added-salt diced tomatoes

• 1/2 cup salt-reduced chicken stock

• 420g can red kidney beans, drained, rinsed

• 125g can corn kernels, drained

• 1 sheet reduced-fat puff pastry, partially thawed

Step 1 Preheat oven to 200°C. Heat a large frying pan (with a lid) over a medium-high heat. Spray with oil. Cook beef in batches, 5 minutes each batch, or until browned. Remove and set aside.

Step 2 Spray pan with oil. Cook onion, capsicum and garlic, stirring, for 5 minutes, or until soft. Stir in chilli and tomatoes. Bring to the boil. Return beef to frying pan and add stock. Simmer, partially covered, for 40 minutes. Add beans andcorn. Cook for 25 minutes, or until beef is tender.

Step 3 Spoon mixture into 4 x 1-cup capacity dishes. Cut 4 x 12cm-diameter circles from pastry and place on top, pressing over sides of dish to seal. Lightly spray with oil. Make a small slit in the top to allow steam to escape. Place on an oven tray. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until golden. Serve with vegetables or salad.

Dinner:Beef pasticcio

Ingredients

• 300g (3 cups) macaroni
• olive oil spray
• 1 onion, finely chopped
• 1 carrot, finely chopped
• 1 courgette, finely chopped
• 1 small red capsicum, seeded, finely chopped
• 350g lean beef mince
• 400g can tomato pasta sauce
• 250ml (1 cup) low-fat plain yoghurt
• 1 egg
• 40g crumbled feta

Step 1 Preheat oven to 180ºC. Cook pasta following packet directions. Drain well.

Step 2 Meanwhile, heat a large pan over a medium heat. Spray with oil. Add onion, carrot, courgette and capsicum.Cook, stirring occasionally, for 6-7 minutes, or until soft. Add mince. Cook, breaking mince up with a wooden spoon, for 5-6 minutes, or until browned. Add pasta sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes.

Step 3 Add mince mixture to drained pasta and stir until wellcombined. With the back of a spoon, press pasta firmly into a 24cm-round springform tin sprayed with oil.

Step 4 In a small bowl place yoghurt, egg and feta and whisk until well combined. Pour yoghurt mixture evenly over pasta to cover. Place in oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until top is golden. Remove and cool for 10 minutes. Remove from tin and cut in wedges.

Kiwiana of NZ

Kiaora and welcome to New Zealand, a very unique and special island. There are two main reasons for this; One is our multicultural population and the other our isolated geographic location. New Zeland is filled with treasured kiwiana that we hope to share with you.

The jandal is a rubber sandal that was trade marked in New Zealand in 1940. It is easy to put on and sometimes slips off while you walk with them. These days you can get different coloured jandals with pictures on it.

The term tiki refers to a carved human figure and was and is part of the maori and other Pasifika peoples culture. If you look at the tiki you will see greenstone with red, grey and dark blue. The tiki is pre-European.

All blacks VS Spring Box

Preparing to battle the All Blacks intimidated the opposition.Strong and powerfully piercing screams were heard during the All Blacks haka.The Spring Bok players challenged the NZ warriors.

Michael Jones

Badminton

“Yes! I finally get to play Badminton,this day has come”I have not played this game ever since I was five.”Hallelujah”!

Gazing at Donna(teacher who takes for badminton)hitting the shuttle expertly,she used both a forehand and a backhand.(basic ways to hold the racket)We then got a turn to do it ourselves.Eventually we had to keep on doing it.

Having so much fun enjoying it I wanted to to do it for the rest of the day but I couldn’t.Badminton was so cool.I was so excited.

Whizzing and whirring the shuttle sored through the air spiralling accurately to it’s own target.It spun round and round gliding through the air.As the shuttle flew in the air it came back down as I waited to hit it.

It was time to watch a trick shot so I decided to try it out myself .”Aw man I can’t do it.Well it was no use.

Ma'a Nonu

The strong mean machine Ma’a Nonu played Rugby.Barging through the opposition players bounced off him.With lots of power he went for a run away.Charging like a bull he dived for the try.

Jonah Lomu

Jonah Lomu is a NZ Rugby Union player.He played 63 games for the All Blacks after debuting in 1994. He was known as the first global rugby superstar.Jonah Lomu was a big strong Tongan man.

After being a intimidating player he had a dialysis in 2003.Jonah had a kidney problem.Off he went to the hospital to clean his blood.A man named Grant Kereama said that he wanted to give one of his kidneys to Jonah Lomu.Jonah made his choice that he was going to play rugby again and after he went to play league.

William Webb Ellis

The game of football was played at rugby school in 1750 to 1869.The game had no fixed limit of players on the field This sport caused major injuries resulting from the enormous rolling mauls.Handling of the ball was permitted but running with the ball was not.
In 1823 William Webb Ellis broke the rules by running with the ball towards the opposition’s goal. Slowly some rules changed and the game was called rugby.

Beep Test

Instead of sitting down and listening to the teacher talking Room Thirteen went to do the Beep Test.I was so eager to do the test.As I got along with it I stopped on level six so I thought that I could improve what I did.

Wiggly Art Work

While looking at some pictures like that Room 13 thought that we should try and draw some.It took a lot of time to finish but I did it.It wasn't that easy because it took us for weeks.I persevered to the end.Although I finished, it was quite a bit fun I just wished I could do it again. It kind of looks like a mussel shell from the ocean.I think tat my one looks cool.

Flying into the future the delorean sped off with a blast of fire.Marty sat trying to comfort her.As Marty was scared he suggested “How are we going to get to the future” Jeniffer was very worried.“We are going through a transporter” Doc replied as he smiled.Off they went to the future.

“I know, we will put our heads on the ground and put our feet in the air”said Mr Twit. “Now we are the right way up.” ”How come we can’t get our heads off the floor.”suggested Mrs Twit.”We are up side down” “Its all your fault” said Mr Twit, “No it was your fault” replied Mrs Twit. Trying to catch a breath while hugging myself tightly, I knew something was wrong. As I tried to sleep, I was terrified.”Wow, What is happening”?,I said in my head. It was someone trying to come and break in our neighbours house. But before I knew it, I trembled, shaking with fear, wondering if my house would be next.

Trip To MOTAT

"Is this MOTAT ,I never knew it would look like this"I said.As We went through the entry Lee said "Thats The Tactile Dome". Ohh yeah the dark place obsticle"I replied.I was so eager to go and have a look around MOTAT but the thing I really wanted to go to was the arcade room.It has lot's of games that you can play on.There were board games and computer games also racing car games. "Man, I wish we could go there first.At least we can still have lunch.Crunch!Crunch!Crunch! I ate my chips. Off we went to the classroom .If only there were two game sections,one in the classroom and one where it usally is.We went and a lady named Stacey took us to the classroom."Isn't that the Box Brownie"I suggested."Yeah it is"replied Iisa and Lee.Shortly after a few minutes later we split up into groups and went to have a look around. "Finally, I get to play in the arcade room.Surley we couldnt have plenty of time to play on these games because It was almost time to eat."Come on, lets go and look at some old things"Said Francis."Wait up then"I replied."Ok"Francis said back.Trotting along the tram trails I spotted a game room."Hey guys,look at this it is a plasma ball.Almost falling off I was on this shaking thing.It was like an earthquake."Let's go to the train"I shouted.Well it is almost time to go to lunch."Can we just look at the willow cottage and all the other ones before we go and eat" "What about the Whisper dishes too" "Fine then,you can go"replied Francis grammah."Well time to go for lunch"Francis said."Yummy" I said in my head.Minutes went past so we left MOTAT.I wish the day did not end because I had so much fun At MOTAT.So I went on the bus.

Swimming

The favourite thing about swimming is swimming to the wall and back. I also really enjoy free time! My next swimming goal is to improve on my breast-stroke.

Bombed Tables

Awesome,our table looks great!!Larsen made our tables look amazing.As he made it fantastic using the colours he had, he wrote the words learn create and share.I wish he could have a chance of bombing our desks.

How did he do that man,I guess he sure does love bombing and music too.Our class looks better. I have been waiting for a quite of few days so that our tables could bombed.All thanks to Larsen Tito for bombing the table.

Back To The Furture

Screeching wheels reversed as the Dilorian drove out of the drive.”Hey Doc, we better back up, we don’t have enough road to get to 88”.Spoke Marty worryingly. Jennifer sat frozen as an ice berg ”Roads. Where we’re going we don’t need roads”.Replied Doc as he adjusted his glasses. Off they went with a blast of fire.

Technology Work.

Have you ever made a mat before with four different designs?Well me,Iisa,Lee and levi made one.We had lot's of patterns so that it could be creative and cool.

I joined with Iisa and his other friends because it sounded like a great idea to make a mat.

IT TOOK FOR LONG!!!How long will it take and when will I finish.It took for only a couple of days.It wasn't so bad after all.I put some New Zealand Icons on my cool design like a silver fern....
